U.S. aviation fuel prices climbed sharply in September 2026, with increases across both 100LL and Jet A nationwide.
According to the latest figures from iFlightPlanner, 100LL prices across the nation averaged $7.75, an increase of $0.21 (2.8%) compared to August.
Meanwhile 100LL Self Service averaged $6.67, up $0.16 (2.5%), reflecting an approximately 14% savings where self-serve options are available, up from approximately 9% in August.

National Jet A Full Service prices averaged $8.36 in September, representing an increase of $0.39 (4.9%) compared to August. Excluding Alaska and Hawaii, Lower-48 Jet A Full Service averaged $8.31, up $0.40 (5.1%) compared to August.
UL94 Self Service averaged $7.68, up $0.20 (2.7%) in September, while Mogas averaged $5.61, up $0.04 (0.7%), according to company officials.

Regional Highlights
- South: 100LL Full Service averaged $7.72, up $0.26 (3.4%), while 100LL Self Service averaged $6.57, up $0.22 (3.5%).
- Southwest: 100LL Full Service averaged $7.49, up $0.25 (3.4%), while 100LL Self Service averaged $6.34, up $0.19 (3.1%).
- Eastern: Jet A Full Service averaged $8.69, up $0.57 (7.0%), the largest month-over-month increase among Lower-48 regions.
- Great Lakes: Jet A Full Service averaged $7.94, up $0.47 (6.4%), while Jet A Self Service increased $0.27 (4.7%).




Six-Month Overview
Over the past six months, national aviation fuel prices remained elevated as the war in Iran continues, with both fuel types reaching new highs in September.

National Jet A Full Service increased from $8.05 in April to $8.36 in September, an increase of $0.31 (3.9%), while national 100LL Full Service rose from $7.20 to $7.75, an increase of $0.55 (7.6%).
After reaching spring highs in May and easing in June, both fuel types increased for three consecutive months from July through September.
Looking further back, Jet A Full Service has increased 32.7% since January, while 100LL Full Service has risen 21.7%, according to iFlightPlanner data.
