Major course change for FAA on LSA update
When general aviation advocates pushed back against proposed changes to the light-sport aircraft rules — calling many of the FAA’s ideas “overly complex” — a stunning thing occurred: The FAA agreed. Many of those proposals, including Light Personal Aircraft, the Power Index, and a 200-hp cap are now history.
AirVenture returns with a roar
While the weather threw sunshine, humidity, and storms, it didn’t stop the fun at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021.

By the numbers: AirVenture 2021
EAA AirVenture 2021 boasted more than 608,000 people, 10,000 planes, and visitors from 66 countries. This year’s theme, “The Wait is Over,” hit the mark, with “joy and excitement throughout the grounds,” according to EAA’s Jack Pelton.

“The pick of the day is a four-ship Navy heritage formation with two F4U Corsairs and two EA-18 Growlers. The Air Force Viper F-16 demonstration flight is seen, as well as an F-16 formation with a P-38 and P-51. Air Force special ops flew a scenario with simulated AC-130 gunship ops and MC-130 landing, plus CV-22 Osprey action.”
