Former U.S. Senator James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), a pilot who logged more than 11,000 hours, passed away July 9, 2024, after a sudden illness. He was 89.
Pilot releases audiobook double feature
The aviation mystery/thrillers follow seaplane pilot Luke Angel as he confronts a dangerous conspiracy, a deadly cartel, and the shadows of his own past. Clues are scattered from the Florida Keys to the far side of the Gulf of Mexico, with much of the action centered around St. Petersburg’s Albert Whitted Airport (KSPG).
Failure to use carb heat causes accident
A total loss of engine power due to carburetor icing, which resulted from the pilot’s failure to use carburetor heat while operating in conditions conducive to the formation of carburetor ice.
