When we ran Sparky Barnes’ photo as Picture of the Day on Sept. 29 of Wisconsin’s Largest Weathervane, reader Sandy Munns reached out to share his recollection of the world’s largest aviation-related weathervane: A DC-3 at the Yukon Transportation Museum in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada.
He and his wife saw the DC-3 while traveling to Alaska a few years ago.
“While in Alaska, I got my seaplane rating,” he added.
