New Prop STC’d for Air Tractors

By General Aviation News Staff · October 1, 2026 · Leave a Comment

MT-Propeller has received an EASA STC for the installation of the 4-blade AVIA Propeller on several Air Tractor AT models, including the AT-402, 402A, 402B, AT-502, 502A, 502B, and 503A powered by Pratt & Whitney PT6A turboprop engines.

The FAA STC is in progress.

According to officials with the German company, the installation features the following advantages:

  • Equal or better performance data compared to the legacy STC 4-blade propeller
  • Increase of static thrust up to 430 pounds for the PT6A-34AG engine and up to 200 pounds for the PT6A-140AG engine
  • RPM reduction from 2200 to 2080 for reduced noise and higher efficiency
  • In-field removable blades with separate hub and blade installation
  • TBO: 2,500 hours or six years

AVIA Propeller, which is part of the MT-Propeller Group, is based in Prague near Letnany Airport (LKLT) in the Czech Republic. It manufactures a wide range of aircraft propeller systems, including 2- to 5-blade, hydraulically controlled variable-pitch propellers for engines up to 867 hp and governors for use with almost any propeller system.
