Latest numbers show a stable general aviation
The latest numbers from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) shows that, through the third quarter of 2024, general aviation shipments and billings rose, with increased shipments of piston airplanes, business jets, and turbine helicopters.
Registration opens for 2025 Aviation Design Challenge
The Aviation Design Challenge is open to the first 150 schools that register to participate. Registered schools will receive free “Fly to Learn” curriculum to facilitate the learning of flight and airplane design principles. Teachers can guide their students through the curricula in approximately four to six weeks. The teams will then apply their knowledge to virtually modify an airplane design and complete a mission in a fly-off using X-Plane software.

Mixed results for airplane deliveries in first quarter 2024
During the first three months of 2024, deliveries were flat for piston airplanes and piston helicopters, down for turboprops and turbine helicopters, and up for business jets, according to the First Quarter 2024 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). However, total aircraft billings were up 3.2% to $4.7 billion.
