New owner takes helm at Thrush Aircraft

This year the grant program is focusing on schools that use AOPA’s high school aviation STEM curriculum.

Deadline is Nov. 30 to nominate a deserving aviator.

The ultimate goal is to build a “reliable workforce pipeline of trained and certified aviation maintenance professionals.”

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company joins a network of 12 other service centers.

Fifty-Ten-Yankee will support 20 FAA approved fixed wing, three helicopter, and two FAR Part 33 engine STCs, as well as 23 foreign approvals

Facilities include a a new hangar that houses the school’s fleet of training aircraft, which includes Cirrus, Cessna and Piper Aircraft.

The project will extend the runway and the parallel taxiway 500′.

With EASA certification in hand, the company will import the plane first under the Experimental category while it also seeks FAA certification.
