One of my favorite West Coast air shows, 2025 marked the 44th year of this event. I really like the friendly, local ambience of this show, with a busy flight schedule filled with local pilots.

Piper M-Class community gathers at Lake Geneva
More than 260 attendees traveled to this year’s event, according to association officials, who note that Kenosha Regional Airport (KENW) welcomed more than 70 Piper M-Class aircraft.

Watsonville Municipal Airport (KWVI) in California has a rich aviation history that has evolved over several decades. Having last visited in 2013, I was curious to see the current incarnation of the airport’s annual fly-in, renamed Fire in the Sky: Watsonville Airport Open House.
