KVDI project wraps up early and under budget
The completed runway project is far from the last update for the airport. It is expected to receive $7 million in federal and local funding over the next several years to update its layout plan and to install up to 12 new hangars, city officials reported.

Following the collision, the Cessna 152 crashed in a grassy area near the runway, bursting into flames. The Cessna 340 crashed on the runway, veered off, and crashed into a hangar.
New runway opens at 21D
Runway 14-32, which opened to traffic July 20, 2022, is 650 feet longer than the previous runway, which will be converted to a taxiway in the final phase of the Lake Elmo Airport modernization project, airport officials said.

Michigan’s Two Hearted Airstrip reopens
