The Alliance for Aviation Across America, which advocates for general aviation and airports nationwide, has named Devin Osting executive director.
Osting previously served as interim executive director following the passing of long-time leader Selena Shilad.
The Alliance also added three new members to its board of directors: Michael Inman, mayor of Macomb, Illinois; Lindsey Daugherty, a state senator in Colorado and communications director of Bye Aerospace; and Bryan Budds, aeronautics director at the Michigan Department of Transportation.
“Devin has shown steady, thoughtful leadership during a time of transition, and he brings a strong commitment to the mission of the Alliance,” said Ed Bolen, president and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association and president of the Alliance for Aviation Across America Board of Directors. “We’re excited for the future of the organization under his leadership and thrilled to welcome these new board members, each of whom bring valuable perspective and represent key constituencies of the Alliance.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as executive director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America and to advocate for the broad community of stakeholders who value general aviation and local airports,” said Osting. “This organization plays a vital role in representing the voices of local airports, rural communities, and small businesses, and I’m committed to continuing that work while building stronger coalitions and expanding our advocacy efforts.”
Formed in 2007, the Alliance represents more than 7,000 members, including individuals, businesses, agricultural groups, FBOs, airports, elected officials, charitable organizations, and business and aviation groups that support the interests of the general aviation community across various public policy issues.
General aviation contributes more than $247 billion annually to the U.S. economy and supports over 1.2 million jobs across the country, with many communities relying on local airports for emergency medical services, disaster relief, and economic development, officials noted.
