Power solution for wing-mounted cameras debuts

By General Aviation News Staff · May 22, 2025 · Leave a Comment

FlightFlix.aero has released the Nav Power Spacer, an experimental device designed to deliver continuous power to wing-mounted cameras.

Crafted from aviation-grade aluminum, the Nav Power Spacer is engineered to be sandwiched between the wingtip and your aircraft’s existing navigational lights.

The spacer eliminates the hassle of changing batteries mid-flight by delivering USB power directly to your camera, company officials explain.

“This product is all about simplicity and reliability,” said Nic Martinez, president of FlightFlix.aero. “Pilots told us they wanted longer camera battery operation without sacrificing aerodynamics or safety, and we delivered. The Nav Power Spacer gives you the video endurance you need. This device will take you coast to coast without battery anxiety.”

Product highlights include:

  • Comes with USB-A to panel terminations with heat shrink for easy setup
  • Hardware includes the Nav Light Mount, Allen key, two rubber gaskets, and three 1-½ inch screws
  • Designed for small digital action cameras, like GoPro and Insta360

The Nav Power Spacer is intended for use on experimental aircraft. For certified aircraft, FAA field approval is required, company officials noted.

The Nav Power Spacer is now available for purchase exclusively at FlightFlix.aero for $164.
