The Aero Club of New England (ACONE) will present the 2025 Godfrey L. Cabot Award to Gregg Williams in recognition of his innovation and development of Williams International.
Williams is the owner, chairman, president, and CEO of Williams International, which manufactures gas turbine engines and is one of the largest privately owned companies in the aviation industry.
Williams’ fan jet engines power a number of business and personal jets in production today, including the Cessna Citation M2, CJ3 and CJ4, the Pilatus PC 24, and the Cirrus SF50, according to ACONE officials. More than 7,000 Williams FJ33 and FJ44 fanjet engines are in service today, amassing over 18 million flight hours of reliable service.
Previous Cabot Award recipients include Igor Sikorsky, General Curtis LeMay, General James Doolittle, Col. Eileen Collins, Harrison Ford, the NASA Mars Helicopter Ingenuity Team, and many other notable individuals and organizations.
The Aero Club of New England (ACONE), the first Aero Club in the Americas, was organized in Boston on Jan. 20, 1902, nearly two years before the Wright brothers historic flight on Dec. 17, 1903.
The award will be presented to Williams during a luncheon on June 6, 2025 at the Harvard Club in Boston.
