IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Whenever someone asks…”Do you wanna go for a ride?”… I hope your default answer is yes. AeroMark‘s Thomas Hoff grabbed my elbow, pointed at Addison Pemberton’s Boeing Model 40C on his ramp and asked, “You wanna go for a ride?”. Uh, YEAH…

Five minutes later, me, Tom and Ivy and Ginny McIver slid into the passenger compartment of Addison’s 40C to enjoy a quick trip around Idaho Falls. Windows open, cameras out, smiles aplenty. Ten minutes… maybe. But it was glorious. The best part? When the power came up for take-off, the smell of engine filled my nose, and I smiled. In my head I was thinking, “so this is what the golden age was like…”. Well sign me up.

I’m in Idaho Falls for the 2nd Annual Trade Show Aviation Idaho. It starts at 8:30 am on Friday and ends at 5:30 on Saturday. I got here on a brand new Cirrus SR22T with Cirrus Aircraft‘s Ivy McIver (Northwest Sales Rep) and her mom Ginny. So, in the span of eight hours, I flew on one of the most advanced… and coolest… aircraft in the GA fleet and one of the oldest… and coolest… aircraft in the GA fleet.
Yeah, I think I’ll chalk up today as… a good day.
