FlightSafety promotes Sammur to director of engineering

By Janice Wood · January 26, 2012 ·

FlightSafety International has promoted Dr. Nidal Sammur to Director of Engineering for the company’s simulation facility in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

“Nidal has made many significant contributions to the design, manufacture and support of FlightSafety’s advanced technology flight simulation equipment over the past 20 years,” said Rick Armstrong, Vice President, Simulation. “His experience and expertise in engineering and his leadership skills and in-depth understanding of customer requirements made him the ideal person to assume this important role.” He replaces Ron Jantzen, who retired from the company in December 2011.

Nidal joined FlightSafety in 1992 at the company’s simulation facility in Broken Arrow, and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in engineering since then. He most recently served as Staff Scientist.

He graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
