LoPresti First Saturday takes off with warbirds and airshows

By Janice Wood · January 2, 2012 ·

The first First Saturday get-together of the year at LoPresti Aviation at Sebastian Airport (X26) in Florida will feature Captain Chris Avery of The Commemorative Air Force and his Corsair.

Avery will show off one of the Corsair aircraft that he flies and you will learn first hand about the history of the Commemorative Air Force, LoPresti officials said, adding Avery will “entertain and enlighten you with great stories of flying in air shows.”

The charity breakfast kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, with the $8 donation going to benefit Operation Hope Fellsmere. Operation Hope Fellsmere feeds more than 15,000 people out of its headquarters in Fellsmere, Florida. It also helps families in need with groceries every Saturday night at 6 pm with food donated by lots of sources, such as food banks in Orlando, a food bank in Melbourne, Daily Bread, food ministries in Titusville, a food bank in Ft. Pierce, US Post Office, a food drive with Wal-mart, and with Boy Scouts, churches, Publix, Pepsi, and private donors.
