Drone tests… coming to airspace above you?

AOL Defense is reporting the FAA and Pentagon are “carving out between four to 10 “bubbles” in civilian airspace above the United States to test UAS [unmanned aerial systems]”. These bubbles will be located are the U.S. “to show that UAS can fly in heavily-traveled commercial airspace in all conditions across the United States.”

    There was a reported mid-air over Afghanistan between a C-130 and a UAS, so I guess they already are… and are encouraged by the results.

    Why dont they try that in heavily trafficked military airspace with fighters tearing up the airspace first?

      My thoughts exactly. In a midair with one, they lose a model airplane, we lose a life, or two, or three. Whose looking out the windscreen for other traffic, hmmmm?
