Williams Memorial received $450,000

By Ben Sclair · July 26, 2009 ·

The runway at the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport in Patterson, Louisiana soon will be sealed and given new painted markings, thanks to a $450,000 federal stimulus fund grant. The money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 — the federal stimulus package — was announced Wednesday by U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu and U.S. Rep. Charlie Melancon, both Louisiana Democrats. That’s the “seaway,” a shallow canal where float planes can land and taxi up a ramp to the airport’s fixed-base operation, Perry Flying Center.
