Affordable forward looking infrared camera systems now available for GA

By General Aviation News Staff · April 8, 2005 ·

A new forward looking infrared camera (FLIR) system is now in the hands of GA consumers.

Developed by Forward.Vision, a division of Aerocomp Inc., this noncertificated system has a heated silicon lens, sealed sensor unit and is designed specifically for the many and varied environmental conditions seen during flights. This next-generation infrared sensor does not degrade in the presence of sunlight, as is frequently seen with competing systems.

The systems improve visibility at night, in haze, fog and smoke and light precipitation.

Price: $18,680.

Does you system fit on the Beechcraft Baron G 58? How many have been done so far if yes? I’m very interested if available.
