Strong MRO demand prompts hiring at Legacy Aviation

By General Aviation News Staff · April 21, 2013 ·

YUKON, Okla — Legacy Aviation Services has begun hiring maintenance and repair technicians to keep up with the steady demand for its MRO operation.

Raul (RJ) Gomez, Legacy’s President and CEO, said he sees a positive trend in flight hours being flown.

“Our customers are comprised primarily of Part 91 turboprop and light jet operators flying for business and pleasure, along with some Part 135 operators,” he said. “The good news is that despite an increase in fuel prices, we are seeing an increase in recurring airframe inspections and maintenance; which means our customers are busy. This increase in flying time makes me all too happy to hire qualified maintenance and repair technicians. Frankly, I’ll hire more as soon as I can find them!”

The increase in hiring coincides with Legacy’s recent decision to expand its maintenance facility, he noted.

Legacy Aviation Services is an aircraft repair and refurbishment center at Oklahoma City’s C.E. Page Airport. It is also an authorized Twin Commander service center. For more information call 405-350-2100 or  Legacy-Aviation.com

Point of interest to those (few) business minded readers who MAY want to drop their day gig ($150k+) to be in the aviation culture “24/7”: 1. Maintenance is the # 1 profit$ center of all GA business – close “tie” with fueling (Jet A – NOT Mogas!) Least profitable and HIGHET risk – you guessed it; the fright (flight) school!

PS I doubt if Legacy does Ultralight annuals!
