Disaster recovery — Preparation is key to succes

Now that we’re past the first day of spring it’s time to start planning for two important seasons ahead: Hurricane and wildfire. According to the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), hurricane season begins May 15 for the Eastern Pacific and June 1 for the Atlantic. Both end on Nov. 30. For those who live and work in places where you are sure that hurricane season is of little concern, you may have a wildfire season to consider. Sorry, there’s no definite nationwide start and stop date for wildfire season because wildfire season is regional, based upon the local flora, and highly dependent upon the weather.

Companies join forces to develop general aviation in China

Cessna Aircraft Co. and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) are signing two strategic agreements to jointly develop general and business aviation in the People’s Republic of China. The agreements pave the way for a range of business jets, utility single-engine turboprops, and single-engine piston aircraft to be manufactured and certified in China, according to Cessna officials.

Ohio’s Grimes Field target for largest gathering of B-25s since WWII

Flying in from around the U.S., about two dozen B-25 Mitchell bombers will converge on Urbana, Ohio’s municipal airport, Grimes Field, beginning Saturday, April 14. Bids fly for Amelia Earhart’s gloves

Signed flying gloves reportedly worn by Amelia Earhart during a historic flight have been found on eBay, according to a post at WhatSellsBest.com. According to the sellers listing, the historic signed leather gloves were worn by Earhart during her 1935 “Goodwill Solo Flight” to Mexico.
