Terrafugia flies first production prototype
Plattsburgh, N.Y. – The first production prototype of Terrafugia‘s Transition flying car flew from Plattsburgh International on March 23. The aircraft has “also successfully conducted initial drive and conversion testing,” stated a company press release.
First flight, last flight for pilot

Knots 2U acquires Globe Fiberglass
Burlington, Wisc. – Knots 2U in December 2011 acquired Lakeland, Florida-based Globe Fiberglass. “The dust is pretty well settled and everything is in production here in Burlington now,” stated Knots 2U’s John Bailey. Knots 2U makes and sells parts for Aerostar, Beechcraft, Cessna, McDonnell-Douglas, Piper, Rockwell Commander and other makes. A banner year for general aviation
This has actually been a banner year for general aviation, according to U.S. Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.), who hosted a Town Hall Meeting Saturday morning on the Sun ’n Fun campus. “We got a lot done in the FAA reauthorization,” he reported.

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) officially opened a Composite Squadron at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy (CFAA) on the Sun ’n Fun campus on Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport (LAL) in Florida.
