Wig-wag lights standard on Sting S3

Wig-wag recognition lights are now standard equipment on the Sting S3 Light Sport Aircraft.

The wig-wag system, controlled by a switch on the instrument panel, alternately flashes the landing and taxi lights in the airplane’s wingtips, according to officials at SportairUSA, the North Little Rock-based company that distributes the LSA in the U.S.

Global Jet’s e-learning takes off

Global Jet Services, a maintenance training provider, has launched its first online training course for maintenance technicians.

The course teaches technicians the fundamentals of pitot-static systems and how to use Barfield’s 450 pitot-static test equipment to conduct static/altimeter system tests, according to company officials. It also demonstrates how to set up test equipment based on step-by-step procedures.

URS designs Bell 407 panel

United Rotorcraft Solutions (URS) has designed and fabricated an extended instrument panel for the Bell 407.

The panel can be built to any customer’s specifications, according to company officials. URS will cut, paint and silk screen the panel so it goes out as a finished product. The only thing left to the customer is installation and final fitting of the bonnet and glare shield, officials note.

Flight School Cooperation Program launched

Training Crue Graphics Inc., a global provider of aviation training products, has launched a cooperation program with various flight schools to produce customized cockpit training posters for pilots-in-training, in addition to large format versions for reference purposes to be used by the training facilities.

Customer-specific Computer-Based Training (CBT) applications also will become available once the customization process for each school is complete.

The program’s launch flight schools include Bob Jones University, Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Minnesota State University-Mankato, Utah Valley University and Saint Louis University.

STC for Clifford Development’s Citation 550 mod

The FAA has issued a final STC certificate to Clifford Development, which covers modification of the 550 and S550 Cessna Citation Series aircraft using Williams International FJ44-3A engines.

This is the first STC issued to cover both Cessna Citation aircraft. It was issued with no operational limitations or restrictions.

American Aviation completes third King Air flight deck retrofit

American Aviation of Brooksville, Florida, has completed its third Alliant Integrated Flight Deck retrofit in a Beechcraft King Air 200.

“Updating the timeless King Air with the Alliant system takes one of the best airplanes ever made and makes it better,” said John Petrick, president of American Aviation.
