Odyssey Aviation has launched seven additional locations through formation of a partnership between Odyssey Aviation Nassau and a group that formerly operated as a member of a nationally recognized FBO chain. The new alliance includes Odyssey Aviation in Nassau, Bahamas (MYNN), Asheville, N.C. (KAVL), Charleston, S.C. (KCHS), Chicago (KMDW), Cincinnati (KLUK), Columbus, Ohio (KCMH), Lafayette, La. (KLFT), and New Orleans (KNEW).
Twin Cities Air Service becomes Avfuel dealer
Twin Cities Air Service at Auburn/Lewiston Municipal Airport (LEW) in Maine recently became an Avfuel-branded FBO.
Officials at the FBO report that plans are in the works to expand LEW’s runway from 5,000 to 6,000 feet, increasing capacity at the airport.
Sport Air Racing League champions honored, 2010 schedule set
The Sport Air Racing League has concluded its third year of cross country air racing, with three champions.
The intent of the league, which is open to all pilots and all aircraft, intent of the League is to offer a friendly, fun, non-professional racing environment for builders and owners to test and improve aircraft modifications, according to organizers.
2009 national champions are:
- SARL Gold : Jim Porter of Taylor, Texas, flying a Cirrus SR-20
- SARL Silver : Stu Morse of Port Orange, Florida, flying a Grumman AA5B
- SARL Bronze: Dave Adams of Villa Ridge, Missouri, flying a LongEZ

Icon opens online store

Icon Aircraft, which is developing the Icon A5 amphibious Light Sport Aircraft, has opened an online store, selling hats and T-shirts with the Icon logo.
According to Kirk Hawkins, the company’s CEO, the online store is in response to “many requests” for Icon apparel.
The Icon A5, which was featured in the 2009 Neiman Marcus Holiday Book, is expected to be certified in 2011, with first customer deliveries beginning in the third quarter of that year.

Duncan appoints Embraer sales reps
Duncan Aviation has appointed Brad Lennemann and Doug Donahue as service sales representatives for Embraer aircraft.
Lennemann, who has 22 years of aviation experience, has been a Duncan Aviation Service Sales Rep since 2003. Donahue has 15 years of experience and has been a Duncan Aviation Service Sales Rep since 2000.
Riley earns air ambulance certification
Riley Aviation has been granted FAA certification to operate as an air ambulance service.
Based at Kirsh Municipal Airport in Sturgis, Michigan, the company will serve as a fixed-wing, air ambulance designed to transport medical patients to and from the United States, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean.

StandardAero appoints new vice president
StandardAero has appointed Mary Ellen Keegan to the position of vice president, contracts based at its Component Services facility in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Keegan will be responsible for legal support for all contract activity within StandardAero, including negotiation and review of all sales, purchase, and lease agreements for the business sectors.

Green hangar opens at BUR
Shangri-La Industries recently unveiled its inaugural project: The world’s first aviation hangar to achieve Platinum certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System.
Hangar 25 is located at the Bob Hope Airport (BUR) in Burbank, California
