Golden Eagle Plus tops flight planners
Posted by · January 10, 2010FlightPrep’s Golden Eagle Plus Software leads the pack in a review of flight planners in Aviation Consumer Magazine’s January issue.
Cited as “intuitive to use,” Golden Eagle Plus Version 5 software is the latest release from FlightPrep. Based upon the free Golden Eagle flight planner sponsored by CSC DUATS, Golden Eagle Plus adds fuel-stop and multi-leg planning features. A vertical profile view shows airspace, terrain and weather for the planned flight. A route list editor permits changing altitudes for multiple cruise altitudes, permitting pilots to optimize their cruise for winds and weather conditions, according to developers.
FlightPrep offers free full VFR and IFR database updates provided through a “self-updating” Internet download function.
Paid subscription options include any combination of VFR and IFR charts, as well as approach plate books. Data is downloaded immediately after subscribing to the service. All subscriptions permit 365 days of updates.
